There are very few days I don't like my job, Most days I love it.... the team I work with, the customers calling to look for assistance on projects or to collect signs or vehicles or print, the customers I visit on site, the people I deal with over the phone, all the to-ing and fro-ing and activity. There is so much going on at times that we often struggle to keep up with it all. The activity creates it's own buzz and we generally fit in a bit of craic! Of the people I meet during my working day, most are very nice...even special.
Take Monday for example, I met Uachtarán na hÉireann Mary McAleese..... now that was special...... I tweeted that evening about meeting her and referred to the dignity with which she holds office. However, I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I said ...
...today, I met someone really special!
David Crowley came to see us this morning. He brought his mum too. Her name is Dolores. David has special needs.
Dolores called me a few days ago and said he loved cars, was it ok if he came over to see the work we do with vehicle graphics and wraps. If the B2B beetle was there at the time, that would make his day.
I called Trevor Coughlan from Candy Rock Lane and I asked him would he mind calling over with his vintage truck which he has turned into a vintage sweet shop. Trevor is special too.
It all worked out. It worked out really well. We took a few amateur pictures, and we had some fun.
David O'Sullivan is one of our designers. He's special too. With David (C) sitting beside him, he designed a stretch BMW limo (David C loves BMW 520's) with graphics down the side that said "David Crowley for President". We printed it out and young David took it away with him.
A lot of people I know get caught up in things. I wish they met my new friend David Crowley today.
